Retail Traders vs. Professional Traders: What’s the Difference?

TechniTrader

Standing on the NYSE Trading Floor years ago toward the end of the trading day, I observed the best floor traders in the world. It was extremely rare for an outsider to be allowed on the floor during business hours or even after hours. I watched the traders intently. Each professional had their own station and their own unique and proprietary trading system, technical analysis methods, indicators, etc. Each professional was totally focused on his trading. No floor trader spoke or even acknowledged the presence of another. There were perhaps 100 traders on the floor that day, all working with their Market Makers. There was no shouting, no discussions, no stopping to chat with each other. It was all strictly business. I visited many retail traders’ groups over the 25 years my company has offered professional-level education to retail traders who seek to join the exclusive ranks of high-income semi-professional to full senior-level professional traders. The retail trading groups were talkative, there was always a leader in the group who was not a credentialed professional. This can be very dangerous to retail traders who are depending upon the leader for advice and stock recommendations. Also, group consensus leads to “cluster orders” which HFTs and professional traders trade against, causing whipsaw action and bigger losses for that retail chatroom group. Without a certified, SEC-approved professional in the group, trading decisions spread rapidly and then the entire group takes a loss. Without an expert who has taken professional exams and has credentials to teach, the chatroom traders place themselves at much higher risk of loss and often margin calls. When I teach, I treat each student as if they will become an expert, high-level senior trader, either working for an Institution OR as an Independent Semi to Professional-level trader. Professional Traders do not share. They do not chat or talk to anyone during trading hours. They have their own Trading Parameters and technical tools, which they have modified to give them an edge. TechniTrader provides tools for student traders and encourages them to modify the tools to their own specific needs and goals. That way each student is capable of having the ideal tools, scans and setups for how they wish to trade. Chatrooms of retail traders are common but I have never seen any that actually have high success rates and high profit for the individuals in the group. What happens is a “follow the leader” mentality that thwarts individuality rather than promoting and encouraging individuality. Professional Traders have a very high success rate of around 90% because they trade without influence or interference from other traders, retail news, or other distractions. The professional trader has the ability to tune out every distraction and make rapid, accurate decisions without asking for another trader’s approval. Learning to Trade like a professional requires learning the skills of making decisions on your own without any encouragement from a chatroom group. However, the difference in income potential is, for most retail traders, a huge shock. A new TechniTrader student learns to rely upon his or her own judgment and decision-making skills. Trading is first and foremost A SKILL. It is not retail news feeds or recommendation services, or a group consensus that one stock is the stock to trade that day. Nor is it trying to find something or someone to blame for a loss. When a professional has a loss, he or she will review the entire trade, identify the problem and then ensure they do not repeat it. When TechniTrader students are in the learning mode, if they have a simulator trading loss as they are learning and developing their skills, they are taught to do the same thing a professional does: evaluate and study the trade to identify the mistake, learn from it and move on. This training is not available within a retail chatroom or retail guru trading group. Instead of determining the mistake, the group prefers to place blame somewhere else. This hampers the retail trader who is trying to succeed because they never learn why a trade did not move in the direction they expected. It can be hard to give up the chatroom environment, but being able to make decisions independently and develop skills way beyond the average retail trader is a huge bonus. While anyone with the willingness to learn can do it, trading like a Professional is not for everyone. It requires a professional-level education aimed at building a unique rules-based trading routine with checks and balances that lead to a high success rate. Retail traders who are determined to learn a complete methodology for executing their own trading plan without deviation can earn a high income with practice and guidance from a credentialed source. New Survey Reveals 77% of American High School Students Feel Overwhelmed by Tests

Bespoke Education

Bespoke Education Inc., which for more than 20 years has provided the highest quality tutoring, test preparation, and academic support to students from elementary through graduate school in both New York and France, today released a survey of parents of American high school students (n=600) in the wake of the last paper-and-pencil SAT exam earlier this month. Ahead of the nearly 100-year old paper test giving way to the future, all-new digital SAT coming in March, the survey showed that: Parents are taking the SAT very seriously with nearly 70% saying their students will take the test; only a small minority of parents say their kids will not take the SAT. Students start SAT preparations early–a majority have started by the end of the previous school year. Students prepare mainly through either self-study, or through SAT preparation and tutoring programs. About three-quarters of all parents report that their children “sometimes” to “always” feel overwhelmed or stressed about an upcoming test. Here is a detailed breakdown of the more important findings: Notwithstanding the decision of more than 2,000 higher education institutes to put test-optional admissions policies in place, parents and students continue to attach great importance to SAT results. A large majority (67.6%) of parents report that they are certain their child(ren) will take the new SAT this year. Q2: Will one of your children be taking the new SAT this year? ““Parents are clearly taking the SAT very seriously.” They intuitively know that the SAT test scores will continue to be important in later life for most American high school students,” said Bespoke Education CEO Tim Levin. Asked when their student(s) will begin preparing for the new SAT, a majority of parents (64.31%) reported that their student(s) either started this past summer or began preparing when school started. Q3: When will your student(s) begin preparing for the new SAT? “I was positively surprised by these answers. We will always recommend that students start preparing for the tests no later than when school starts. Starting after December significantly decreases the odds of posting a good test score,” said Levin. Students prepare for the SATs through self-study using books and online resources (34.46%), enrolling in an SAT preparatory course or tutoring program (28.69%), or participating in school-offered SAT preparatory sessions or workshops (26.76%). Q4: How exactly is/are your student(s) preparing or planning to prepare for the new SAT? “The most important thing is not how students prepare, but that they prepare. Fortunately, parents can choose from a number of options to help their student test takers develop the skills and confidence needed to perform at their best on test day. And of course, digital resources have made self-study much more valuable,” added Levin. The minority of parents with students who will not take the test were asked why these students would not take the SAT test. The number one answer to this question was that their student(s) is/are taking an alternative test (e.g. ACT) instead. Coming in second place, under “other,” a plethora of answers followed that seem to indicate that there is uncertainty with some parents on whether SAT tests are actually still taken. Third comes the answer that the colleges where parents are considering applying have test-optional admissions policies in place. Significantly, 8.05% of students will not take the SAT test because of stress or anxiety. Q7: Why will your student(s) not take the SAT? Parents were also asked to which degree their children feel overwhelmed by tests. 77.26% of parents report that their children feel “sometimes,” “often,” or “always” overwhelmed or stressed about an upcoming test. 40.19% feel either often or always overwhelmed. Q8: How often have one or more of your children expressed feeling overwhelmed or stressed about an upcoming test? On the question of how parents normally help their child(ren) cope with test anxiety, a large majority (65.01%) answered that they counsel their children themselves. “Test-related stress is a very real problem for many students but it can be addressed. That means teachers, counselors, tutors, and parents must get involved in supporting students as they prepare,” said Levin. “We expect stress levels to diminish as students become more comfortable with the new digital format, which is more accessible and less intimidating than the 100-year old paper version it replaces.” On the survey The survey was run on October 25, 2023. A total of 600 parents of American high school children were surveyed. 65.83% of all respondents were between 34 and 44 years old. 24.33% were between 45 and 55 and 9.83% were older than 54. All respondents lived in the United States. 49.17% were male, 50.83% were female. Their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, transforming their business from a traditional high street print shop into a cutting-edge powerhouse, delivering ingenious print solutions to a roster of prestigious corporate clients. The remaining 50% is a whirlwind of online services, with virtual shops, print-on-demand, fulfilment, and drop-shipping at the forefront. These cutting-edge solutions are on everyone's lips as they adapt to the evolving business landscape. In 2023 and beyond, we are elated to provide ‘managed print services’ to 10 customers, with grand plans to expand to 20 in the coming year. We are covering Google, social media, and a reinvigorated campaign to meet our existing, dormant, and new customers face to face.” Keith continues, “As Minuteman Head Office puts it, there's direct marketing, and then there's everything else! This is the fundamental tenet of our ongoing quest for year-on-year growth. We also strive to achieve this with careful consideration of our environmental footprint and the need to focus on sustainability, which is a big point of focus here in the UK.” Key Lessons Learned & Advice for Others Keith concludes by sharing, “The most gripping lessons we’ve learned in our 19-year journey are that marketing and nurturing new & existing customers is an unending adventure. Should You Trade Stocks in Your Retirement?

TechniTrader

It’s a wonderful concept: Retire on your 401(k), pension plan or IRA and go have fun. The reality for millions of Americans is totally different. Not only are Americans often living much longer than Financial Planners and Advisors plan for, the cost of retirement is much more than most retirees have planned and saved for. Trading Stocks in retirement is a much more desirable and enjoyable retirement job than many other job opportunities available to retired Americans. And in retirement, you tend to be in exactly the right position in life to make the most of trading or investing in stocks or ETFs. There are many perks to Trading Stocks in Retirement: Unlike every other industry in the US, the Stock Market holds a very high regard for Brain Trust, which is the accumulation of knowledge, experience, expertise, skills, and the wisdom that comes with age. Keep your mind sharp. The brain is like a muscle; the more you use it, the more time you spend learning throughout your lifetime, the HIGHER your IQ. The average person gains a considerably higher IQ as they age when they learn through their entire life. One of our students is now 106 years old. It doesn’t take all your time. Trading stocks can be something you do a couple of times a month or for a couple of hours 5 days a week or less. My students are always surprised that they can pay for their course in a couple of trades and start making spendable income soon after they complete the course. You can trade stocks from wherever you are: at home, when you are traveling to see the world, and it is a much more productive pastime than TV, games or casinos. Be prepared for unexpected expenses. You don’t have to sell your long-term held stocks OR charge a credit card when there is a sudden expense that is way beyond your budget. Your trading gives you monthly cash flow that you have on hand for emergencies. You can sell your stocks or ETFs at any time without tax penalties or higher taxes. Trading as a Business gives you the ability to have ALL of the advantages of professional traders who earn 6 to 7-digit incomes. Of course, your monthly income from trading stocks is dependent on your initial cash in your Trading Brokerage Account. We advise a separate account for long-term and one for stock trading for monthly income. It keeps everything neat, clean and simple to track for IRS purposes. Trading as a Business is something all traders should consider as this IRS status has many perks and deductibles that lower taxes. You have CONTROL again. If your retirement income or Social Security is cut or diminished for any reason, then you are in a position to move forward and maintain your retirement lifestyle. Trading Successfully in Retirement There are rules and parameters that you must adhere to IF you want to make your trading in retirement a success: Do not Day Trade or trade intraday. It takes the longest to learn to do correctly and has the highest risk with the least amount of profit potential. The SEC has been studying retail day trading for 20 years and has determined that 99% of all retail day traders not only lose all of their capital over time, but often are faced with steep margin calls by their broker. If you’re looking for a short-term trading style, learn swing trading. Avoid scams and so-called “gurus.” People with a lot of life experience know that investing in an education is the best way to meet your goals and have success in any endeavor. Make sure that the company you choose for your trading education has a credentialed individual teaching and creating the courses you will take. Make sure the company is at least 20 years in business and has testimony from successful students. Check BBB and see what, if any, complaints or accolades the company has earned. A corporate entity provides a foundation of credibility over a sole proprietorship. Choose wisely, not some gimmick or get-rich-quick scheme. Risk Analysis, Risk Management, and Risk Mitigation are essential to retirement stock trading. When you don’t have time to recover huge losses, it is critical to learn how to keep losses to a very small amount. TechniTrader provides Trade Management and Risk Analysis training in our comprehensive courses so that you have that knowledge and skill before you ever place your first trade. Simulate Trading Stocks on a real trading simulator that is identical to the real trading platform you will be using when you go live trading stocks. Our students stay on their simulator until they have a consistent minimum of 75% success rate or higher. Elite students and our semi-professional to professional students have success rates between 80-90%. That sounds amazing, but it is simply a matter of receiving a complete education on: Developing Spatial Pattern Recognition Skills. Determining Risk factors and only trading low-risk stocks. Adhering to our Trading rules to eliminate mistakes and bad habits. Respecting the market as a means of financial security and not a place to gamble. Using our Trade Management Planner to make trading simple, straight forward, and fun. Using our Trading Journal to analyze the market conditions, trading conditions, and your activity over time, especially if trading as business. Retirees tend to be excellent traders when trained by professionals who understand your needs and goals for monthly income beyond your long-term investments, dividends and social security checks. TechniTrader is a specialized and unique educational experience. What we teach is taught nowhere else. We have thousands of successful retirees who have made their retirement years the best years of their lives. Minuteman Press Franchise in Londonderry, NH Wins Business of the Year

Minuteman Press International Inc

For over 8 years and counting, Bob Bean has been the proud owner of the Minuteman Press franchise in Londonderry, New Hampshire located at 44 Nashua Road, Unit 18. When Bob purchased the business in October of 2015, he followed the Minuteman Press system and immediately became involved with several community groups and organizations. Thanks to Bob’s hard work and dedication, Minuteman Press in Londonderry has won the Business of the Year award from the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce. Bob accepted the award at the special awards dinner that was held on Oct. 12, 2023 at the Tupelo Music Hall in Derry NH. Bob shares his humble reaction to winning the award and provides his insights on the importance of being an active member of local groups in order to build relationships and generate referrals. He also talks about his journey to Minuteman Press and how his passion for helping others drives him today. What does it mean to you to win Business of the Year? H ow are you active in your community? Bob Bean: “Receiving the Business of the Year is a humbling experience. It was a surprise, I did not know that we had made such an impact in the Chamber and business community for this recognition. We have just tried to provide services to the businesses and the community to the best of our ability. It is great to be recognized and know that we are doing a good job with in the communities that we serve. I am involved in two local Chambers, member of the Rotary Club of Londonderry, and have been an active member in BNI for 8 years. I have made many connections with a lot of the non-profits in the area and work with them to help with their needs and support their functions. With the local rotary we have sponsored Christmas on the Commons, Senior High School Graduation Banners have donated to many non-profits and helped with fuel assistance during the winter months. I am also involved with the Freemasons in the state.” How would you best describe your community? Bob Bean: “ The Derry/Londonderry community are the largest two towns that are in the chamber and we have several smaller towns in the chamber also. New Hampshire does not have a lot of large metropolitan areas; it is made up more of small towns that are convenient to bordering states. Other than small businesses and small business owners, the majority of the communities are made up of people that work out of state. The people and businesses in the community are open and always look for ways to help each other when possible. As business owners, we all want to support each other and do what we can to see that we can grow and thrive.” What are some of the key ways you’ve grown your business? Bob Bean: “Networking is the key that has worked for us. Since 2015, I have been a member of the chamber and of BNI. I have always been very active in the networking area by going to meetings, ribbon-cuttings, events, and visiting businesses. We took advantage of the upgraded minuteman.com website to get some traffic through online channels. One of the other biggest ways we’ve built the business is through referrals from our customers and the organizations we work with.” What are your high-demand products and services? Bob Bean: “We have been able to provide direct mail services for many of our clients; this has been a big part of the business over the last few years especially during the pandemic. We also do a lot of marketing catalogs and Playbills for several theater groups and music groups.” What was your previous background? Why did you choose Minuteman Press? Bob Bean: “I was in the computer industry for almost 40 years. Most of my career was in management both in manufacturing and support. I was a Field Service Representative for a computer company for many years. Then, for 20 years, I was a Technical Support Manager for a supermarket chain. I chose Minuteman Press because of the research I did on the company and talking to the Regional Vice President and several store owners.” What has the support from Minuteman Press been like for you? Bob Bean: “Minuteman Press International support has been good on all levels. When I have a question, we can usually get an answer quickly. When there is an issue, support has been good at assisting in resolving the issue.” What are the biggest personal and professional rewards of owning your business? Bob Bean: “Personal and professional goals are similar in that I enjoy helping people and organizations. This business has given me the chance to connect with many more people and organizations to be able to help and give my knowledge and experience to them so that they can succeed.” What advice would you give to other business owners right now? Bob Bean: “Get involved with your local Chamber of Commerce and BNI Networking Group. These two are very critical to the growth and success of the business. Also, look into other organizations and groups like the Exchange, Rotary, Kiwanis, or whatever is in your area and local to your business. But do not just join these groups; get involved and be active in what is going on with the groups and be involved in the community. You get out of them what you put into them, so if you are active and visible then you will be the person or business that others will seek out and rely on for help and advice.” For more information on Minuteman Press in Londonderry, NH, visit https://minuteman.com/us/locations/nh/londonderry/ Learn more about #1 rated Minuteman Press franchise opportunities and read Minuteman Press franchise reviews at https://minutemanpressfranchise.com. HKBU-led research develops novel drug delivery system for Gouteng compound for Alzheimer’s disease treatment

Hong Kong Baptist University

HONG KONG SAR - Media OutReach Newswire - 6 December 2023 - A research team led by Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has developed a novel drug delivery system for Alzheimer's disease (AD). The researchers have engineered exosomes, extracellular vesicles released by cells, to effectively carry the bioactive compound Corynoxine-B extracted from the Chinese herbal medicine Gouteng to the brain of mice with AD. As Corynoxine-B can induce autophagy, a process that maintains the health of cells, this new drug delivery system using exosomes can improve cognitive function and movement while reducing the symptoms of AD. The research findings have been published in the international academic journal Nature-Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy. Bioactive compound of Gouteng can treat AD AD is the most common type of dementia in which the brain cells degenerate and die, characterised by a build-up of amyloid-beta and phospho-tau protein in the brain, resulting in the decline of the brain's cognitive functions. Currently more than 55 million people worldwide are dementia patients. In Hong Kong more than 100,000 elderly suffer from dementia and the number is anticipated to soar to more than 330,000 by 2039. At present there is no curative treatment for AD. Available treatments can only delay the disease's progression and improve symptoms. HKBU's previous research projects found that Corynoxine-B, a bioactive compound of Gouteng, is effective in treating AD. However, the blood-brain barrier which protects the brain from potentially harmful substances in the bloodstream affects its uptake in brain. Exosomes serve as drug carriers To tackle this problem, a research team comprising Professor Li Min, Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) of Chinese Medicine, and Dr Ashok Iyaswamy, Research Assistant Professor of the Teaching and Research Division at the School of Chinese Medicine at HKBU, along with other local, mainland and overseas scientists, have developed a novel approach to deliver Corynoxine-B to the brain using exosomes. Exosomes are extracellular vesicles released by cells which can transport molecules between cells like nanocarriers. Recent studies have shown that they could be utilised as vehicles for drug delivery. To examine whether exosomes are effective drug carriers for AD, the researchers manipulated the neuronal cells in mice to overexpress an adaptor protein Fe65 on the surface of exosomes released by these cells. Fe65 is involved in the processing of amyloid-beta precursor protein (APP), which plays a crucial role in the development of AD. By doing so, they observed more exosomes containing Fe65 were released by the neuronal cells. These engineered exosomes showed a good ability to migrate towards the neuronal cells with APP overexpressed in AD models. These findings suggest that the presence of Fe65 on the surface of exosomes enhanced their ability to specifically target and interact with the neuronal cells with elevated levels of APP, which is a characteristic feature of AD. Reduction of accumulated amyloid-beta protein Corynoxine-B is a natural inducer of autophagy which plays a crucial role in maintaining neuronal health. The research team loaded it into the engineered exosomes and injected it to the mice with AD to evaluate its potential as a therapeutic agent for the disease. Results show that engineered exosomes loaded with Corynoxine-B could enhance autophagy in mice, and were able to cross the blood-brain barrier to deliver Corynoxine-B to the brain, resulting in a 30% reduction of accumulated amyloid-beta protein. In addition, various behavioural tests including the rotarod test, open field test, contextual fear conditioning test, and Morris's water maze test conducted on mice with AD showed that the application of engineered exosomes loaded with Corynoxine-B resulted in 25% recovery of the cognitive and locomotor behaviour. Professor Li Min said: "Our study suggests that exosomes could be a promising new way to deliver drugs to the brain and treat AD. More research is needed, but this study provides hope that a cure for AD may be possible in the future. We hope that this research project will ultimately be beneficial to the elderly, individuals at high risk of neurodegeneration and neurodegenerative disease patients."
